YOU ARE CALLED INTO
GROWING IN CHRIST
COURSES and SUNDAY FORUMS
People think of Christian Formation as a program just for children and youth. But it’s more than that. Christian formation is a lifelong process aimed at personal conversion and growth in Christ. Children are very spiritual people and have a real desire to know about God and the things of God. But, the problem is that our children know so little about Jesus is because the parents do not know how to tell the story of what Christ has done for them in their own lives. We are presently in our 3rd generation of parents who do not know how to share their faith in Christ with their children. The real catechisis comes from the parents.
St. Uriel's offers a range of Bible studies and apologetics courses designed to bring you deeper into God’s Word in the mind and heart of His Church.
The fullness of truth subsists in the teaching of the Catholic Faith. What an amazing gift we have in our Anglican tradition! How important it is, then, that Anglicans understand this faith, rooted in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15), love the Lord Jesus Christ, live the faith once delivered, love this faith, and know how to share it with a world that is broken and in desparate need to hear the Good News of God in Christ Jesus. (1 Peter 3:15).
Today, people are rediscovering the power that Jesus gives His people through the Holy Spirit. They are discovering the power to live together in love and peace, to heal the sick and comfort the afflicted, and to worship God with new and abundant praise. Above all, they are discovering a deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their very own Lord and Savior. The power of the Holy Spirit has made such a vital and tangible change in their lives that more and more people can see that power at work and begin to desire this new life for themselves. Everywhere, people are coming alive to the new life in the Spirit, and they want to find out more about that life, they want to discover a new relationship with Jesus.
This is why St. Uriel’s offers seminars in a wide variety of Christian venues.
You could be as wealthy as a king -- yet miserable -- if you have no friends. Or you could be as poor as dirt -- yet happy -- because you're surrounded by loved ones.
A recent study of human happiness concludes that the most significant factor for personal happiness is relationships with other people. And what personal relationship could be more important than the relationship with God? The saints -- who were notoriously happy -- gave witness to this reality. Even Perpetua and her companions sang hymns of joy on their way to martyrdom. Immersed in conditions that would make mere mortals sad, these friends of God faced suffering with joy. It was their deep relationship with God that gave them strength and joy.
We need to do the same with God, and that's why the Church warmly recommends annual retreats for the faithful. Retreats are a time away from our normal activities to spend time getting reacquainted with God, to examine the priorities of life and to make concrete and practical resolutions for improvement. Retreats can be a powerful step toward personal conversion.

St. Uriel’s offers exciting opportunities and resources for adults that will serve to enrich your faith life as a member of our parish and help you to share your faith more effectively with others. We invite you to consider taking part anyone of our many Christian Formation offerings.
As the heart of our catechetical vision and practice, St. Uriel’s is committed to both adult and youth faith formation. We seek to help those individuals to consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer and study. We view our parish as a learning community and develop curriculums for all ages around the events in our life as a faith community: the Church Year, the sacraments, liturgy, prayer, justice and service, community life, and proclamation of the Word.
