Vacation Bible School 2007
First week in August
More information to follow
A person begins to grow in Christ as early as in the mother's womb. When the parents prays for their child, even at this early stage in life, the person's formation in Christ begins.
When a person is born and the baptized into Christ's death and resurrection, the new Christian prepares to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Jesus commands “Go and make disciples. . .” It is not without significance that the word “disciple” occurs 269 times in the New Testament. The word “member” never appears once. In many of our churches we have it backwards. The task of the church is not to make members, but disciples!
The role of our Christian education ministry is to equip the saints for ministry. We seek to do this at all ages. Sunday school attempts to teach our young children about the life of Jesus Christ. The Youth Ministry to our teenagers attempts to strengthen their faith so as to enable them to face the challenges of a society which teaches the doctrine of relativism.
In the summer months, St. Uriel's holds Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School has been very well attended. It is held during the first full week (Monday through Friday) in August.
Alpha has had a dramatic impact in the spiritual life of the parish. The emphasis in ALPHA is on creating an environment in which any and all questions about Faith can be asked without judgment.
Every Sunday between September and May following the 9:30am Mass, the Adult Forum. The forum is open to everyone.
We have a special Bible Study course just for women. Our women have completed the study course from the Beth Moore Bible series, “A Heart Like His Seeking the Heart of God Through a Study of David”. This group meets during the summer months every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.
Future disciplining courses will include, "The Purpose Driven Life", the Order of St. Luke healing ministry, and the Level 1-3 Healing seminars developed through the Christian Healing Ministry.
